You do not need the government to compel you to pay more. 2) A lot of the companies these individuals work(ed) for, received gov't funding in the past (vested interest). 3) They do not even realize that even IF the top marginal rates were increased, it would not materially affect our debts or deficits because our SPENDING is out of control.

Tim Pawlenty comes out swinging on tax code reform. Clearly this is long overdue but what interests me even more is his "Google Test". I hope this aspect of his policy gains traction because it seems like a level-headed, simple, easy to understand solution to government's role in the free-market.
