Rear naked nose hold

Erick Erickson over at RedState does a great job of summarizing why Mitt Romney would not be the principled conservative we are looking for in 2012. If the polls hold and Cain/Perry/Newt win Iowa, anyone under 10% should step aside to allow greater debate with Romney. Romney proved you can get under his skin when confronted with his flip-flops. I cannot go through another Presidential election holding my nose......

Mitt Romney: The Magically Malleable Man of Mystery | RedStateMitt Romney is probably thanking his lucky stars the Politico decided to drop a Sunday night hit piece on Herman Cain alleging Cain sexually harassed at least two women.

Perry on job creation

Another solid ad from Perry. The one thing that jumped out at me: not playing it safe like The One always does with "saved or created". Perry sticks with "create" only. Between this ad and his tax plan, Perry has a new energy.....until the next debate.

Moore fat slobs

When will this fat slob shut up? He acknowledges the irony of his success vs. his ideology, but he cannot accept the fact that his personal situation is not indicative of being a part of the "1%". This fat slob loves his pimped out Ivory Tower.

Michael Moore won’t admit he is part of ‘the 1 percent’Either Michael Moore movies aren't that profitable for him, or he's having a real identity crisis. During a live made-for-cable-television town hall event on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" Tuesday, Moore discussed the plight of those hurt by the current economy.

Spineless Romney

Mitt Romney won't support the conservatism that was overwhelming supported in the 2010 mid-terms. Below is a proposal set forth by John Kasich in Ohio. Mitt will not endorse the following:

1) bans government unions from bargaining over health insurance,2) requires that all government union members pay at least 10% of their wages toward their pensions, 3) ends seniority rights as the sole factor in layoffs, 4) replaces seniority pay raises with merit pay raises, 5) bans government unions from striking, and 6) makes government union dues voluntary. But government unions would still be able to bargain about many other topics including pay and working conditions.

Romney is no conservative. He is trying to be everything to everyone. That will not work. See McCain 2008.

Romney refuses to back Kasich against govt unions | Campaign 2012Campaigning in Ohio today, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney stopped by a Republican Party phone-bank making calls in support of Gov. John Kasich's government union reform referendum, but refused to endorse the actual referendum. CNN's Peter Hamby called the scene an "incredible moment in politics."

Cain summons Rocky Balboa

This may be the first effective ad put out by Herman Cain or on his behalf this election season. Cain needs to hire some folks with the talent and craftiness that Pawlenty had and Romney and Perry currently have. But I must say, I'm a sucker for Rocky music!

2012 General Preview

This is what we will be up against. Note the inaccuracies littered throughout the ad. My favorite? Romney paid only 14% in federal taxes. Notice it didn't say federal INCOME tax. As Herman Cain likes to say, you're comparing apple & oranges!

Perry hits back

It's Perry's turn to take a swing at Romney. This is getting intense!

Cain's Confusion

Herman Cain has suddenly thrown the pro-life voters for a loop. Watch the videos in the attached link and try and articulate his position as President, not as a citizen. Very confusing. The pro-lifers need answers and clarity.

Cain to Piers Morgan: I’m anti-abortion yet pro-choice - Hot AirMaybe Herman Cain is trying too hard to be likable. He doesn't need to enter attack mode or anything, but it would help if he didn't pander to lefty media hosts, either. I have to assume that's what this is - unless Cain really doesn't think it's the government's business to ban abortion?

Joe Biden unhinged

This mas has completely lost it. It's hard to determine who is worse, the Prez or Veep. Listen to the scare tactics and fear mongering Biden uses to push the jobs bill. We've reached a new low in politics folks.

Marco Rubio just destroys Timmy Geithner on taxation. Rubio is doing what our GOP nominees are failing to do, use Obama's own words against him. Rubio is looking very Vice-Presidential, no?!

Laffer - 9-9-9 not a joke

Arthur Laffer documents his thoughts on Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan. The debate was increasing frustrating tonight due to Bachmann, Romney and Perry routinely providing false and misleading analogies on Cain's plan. Here is the math:

Current tax code: 25% income tax + 9% sales tax = 34%

9-9-9: 9% income tax + 9% federal sales tax (only on goods you choose to buy new) + 9% state sales tax = 27%

Now, the argument will be made that the poor now must pay 9% income tax under this plan. At what point should people have skin in the game? When 47% of the country pays no federal income tax and yet receive benefits beyond what this country can afford, are we supposed to seek our own financial demise?

Arthur B. Laffer: Cain's Stimulating '9-9-9' Tax ReformIt used to be that the sole purpose of the tax code was to raise the necessary funds to run government. But in today's world the tax mandate has many more facets. These include income redistribution, encouraging favored industries, and discouraging unfavorable behavior.

Rick Perry must be looking forward to the debates ending soon. Why? Compare the Perry in this video to the Perry at the debates. It's night and day. Tonight's CNN debate may be Perry's last stand in the 2012 primary.

Cain's Border Solution

‎"I’m going to build a wall twenty feet high, cover it in barbed wire, and electrify it. I’m going to put a big sign on it that says if you touch this, it will kill you. Then I’m going to dig a big moat as long as a football field and I’m going to fill it with alligators. If anyone can climb that wall, swim that moat, fight off the alligators and live to tell about it, I’m going to find them a job." Herman Cain

Thank you for restoring humor to politics, Mr. Cain!

Cain over Obama

New polling data from Scott Rasmussen suggest Herman Cain has 43%-41% advantage in a head-to-head against Obama. The unlikely candidate needs another good showing with added substance behind 9-9-9 to maintain this momentum. He is now the primary target. His lead is his to hold.

Rasmussen: Cain 43, Obama 41 - Hot AirIs Herman Cain electable? As he keeps the nation's attention on his unorthodox run for the Republican presidential nomination, Cain has begun to show strength in general-election polling at Rasmussen.

Nervous Obama?

Another great ad from Mitt Romney. The only problem: Mitt, you're polling in 2nd place in the GOP race in a number of national polls. Regardless, Mitt's ad team has been dishing out solid ad after solid ad. If he is our nominee, there is zero concern of his ability to attack Obama. The question is, are his attacks and his positions bold enough for voters to so see clear distinctions? Please weigh in!

Personal Responsibility

Hope is not yet lost....

Professor Ryan

Paul Ryan lays out why taxing the rich is not the solution to our fiscal problems. Why can't our GOP candidates articulate these points as simply and coherently?

Unemployment claims remain above 400,000. In other news, the sun rose in the east.....

News from The Associated PressWASHINGTON (AP) -- The number of people applying for unemployment benefits was mostly unchanged last week. A slight dip in applications suggests the job market isn't getting much better. Applications ticked down 1,000 to a seasonally adjusted 404,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.

Mitt's bad news

Herman Cain is now tied or leading Mitt Romney in every national poll I've seen in the last two days. Keep in mind, his lead comes with Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann still in the race and dividing the conservative vote. Mitt should be scared.

Poll Finds Cain at TopOf GOP's 2012 FieldFormer corporate executive Herman Cain has catapulted to the lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, as GOP voters grow disenchanted with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and remain wary of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Wednesday.

Hail Mary time

Rick Perry out with another hard hitting, RGA-esque campaign attack ad. Clearly the Perry camp took creative liberties in how they spliced and edited Romney and his comments.....with Obama's. Is the Perry camp getting desperate or is this just a great ad outlining the similarities between Romney and Obama?

The real winner? Herman Cain.

Hope and Change: The 2 year tale

Barack Obama wound down his 2008 campaign by stating we were 5 days away from fundamentally transforming the country. How right he was.

**Bush famously said the following:**
I readily concede that I chucked aside some of my free market principles when I was told by chief economic advisers that the situation we were facing could be worse than the Great Depression

Look what happened when you did Mr. President.....

In Pictures: Debt by President? Obama Leads the PackWhen House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D–CA) staff released a chart in May that attempted to illustrate how much past Presidents increased the national debt, it collided with a meticulous critique from Politifact that in turn led to a revised chart.

Fairness my A**!

The progressive income tax is right out of the communist playbook. Here is a graphic, with context, from The Heritage Foundation. If fairness is what Barack Obama wants, then let's give him legislation for a flat income tax system.

In Pictures: How Much the Top Earners Already Pay in TaxesAmerica has heard a lot of talk about the Buffett Rule -- President Barack Obama's plan to make the tax code more fair by permanently raising taxes by $1.5 trillion over 10 years, with most of the burden falling on families and businesses earning more than $250,000 per year.

Obama's auto-signature in action!

Hold on a second. Obama is against the new bank fees Bank of America is charging debit card customers, yet he signed the Dodd-Frank bill that incorporated Dick Durbin's "swipe fee" amendment? Ok I think I am confused. Barack Obama campaigned on going line by line through budgets and legislation, yet he is now against a fee that is in direct response to the legislation.
“It’s disappointing and puzzling that the President would attack a private corporation for responding to government price fixing that has fundamentally altered the economics of offering a debit card. As a direct result of the Durbin Amendment, consumers have started paying for financial services they previously enjoyed free of charge. Unfortunately, this proves that whenever government tries to control pricing of a product or service, consumers lose.” - American Bankers Association President Frank Keating

President Obama hits new bank card fee - Mackenzie WeingerIn full populist mode, President Barack Obama on Monday ripped Bank of America for its new $5-a-month debit card fee - and was met with a stinging counter-attack from American Bankers Association President Frank Keating.

Two faces, One joke

The President appealed to the electorates' hopes, aspirations and dreams in 2008. Since his inauguration, he has routinely thrown one message out to the public and worked privately to the contrary. One example, taxation. American Crossroads puts Obama's hypocrisy on full display in their new ad. There are two faces to this administration but it amounts to one sad, pathetic joke.

Liberal protest vs. Tea Party

Have you seen the coverage of the "occupying Wall Street" protests? If you have, it's much like the attached; peaceful, earth-loving hippies. Notice the article casually mentions 700 protests on the Brooklyn Bridge. The video captures some of the protestors bad mouthing cops trying to clear the law breakers. These are the same media type that blast the Tea Party for being racists and bigots.

Our take, the media is trying to create the image that the youth have re-awoken from their mid-term election slumber to come out en masse to be the force that offsets the Tea Party activists in 2012. Is the main stream media using this "movement" as the breeding ground for new liberals? Give us your take.

Obama's Social Security killing jobs bill

Obama wants a vote on his jobs bill NOW. If the Democrats in the Senate weren't stonewalling yet another vote, maybe The One would get his wish.

As exposed by Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh last week, a cornerstone of this proposal is cutting the payroll tax. This effectively cuts Social Security. We have a hero in the House in Paul Ryan who has made a legitimate effort to reform SS and shore up the plan while not affecting current or near-term retirees. Meanwhile Democrats are cutting the primary source of funding for the plan and portraying Ryan as a granny killer in web videos. The hypocrisy is sitting in plain site.
